We install and repair across St Helena Bay and the West Coast. This page sets out where we work, what is different about each area, and roughly how quickly we can get to you.
Our base. Same-day or next-day for most faults, and planned installations usually within a few days. Covering Shelley Point, Britannia Bay, Stompneusbaai, Sandy Point and everything between.
Shelley Point, Britannia Bay and anywhere directly exposed take the worst of the salt. We fit marine-grade hardware as standard here, and we expect to see corroded LNBs on older installations. If your dish is more than five or six years old and within sight of the sea, it is worth a look before it fails.
Paternoster and further back are easier on hardware but not immune. Wind is still the main cause of drift.
Vredenburg, Saldanha, Langebaan, Velddrif and beyond. We travel for these, usually grouped with other work in the area, so it is worth asking when we are next out that way.
The full list is available across all of these areas:
| Area | Typical response | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| St Helena Bay central | Same or next day | Our base |
| Shelley Point, Britannia Bay | Same or next day | Close by |
| Stompneusbaai, Sandy Point | Next day usually | Short travel |
| Vredenburg, Saldanha | Within a few days | Often grouped with other work |
| Further afield | By arrangement | Ask and we will tell you honestly |
Those are realistic expectations, not promises we cannot keep. If we cannot get to you quickly we will say so rather than leave you waiting.
Not sure if you are in our area? Call or WhatsApp 079 754 5527 and we will give you a straight answer, no obligation.
Corroded LNBs and rusted brackets, mostly on installations that were done with standard hardware. If a dish here is more than about five years old and has never been looked at, it is worth a check before it fails.
Faults that developed while nobody was there. Usually a slow degradation that became a total loss over an empty winter. These are the calls that come in on the first day of a holiday, which is the worst possible timing.
Rules about visible dishes, and older communal systems that were never properly maintained. Both solvable, both worth planning rather than improvising.
For the further towns we group work where we can, which keeps travel sensible for everyone. If you are in Saldanha or Langebaan and it is not urgent, ask when we are next out that way. If it is urgent, say so and we will work something out.
A few things that make the visit faster and cheaper for you:
You get the signal readings, an explanation of what was done, and a number that a real person answers. If something is not right a week later, call us and we will come back. That is easier for us than it sounds, because we are working across St Helena Bay and the West Coast most days anyway.
A rough sense of what we are usually called out for across the West Coast:
| Area type | Most common job | Second most common |
|---|---|---|
| St Helena Bay central | New installations | Signal repairs |
| Shelley Point and Britannia Bay | Repairs and realignment | Multi-room setups |
| Holiday properties | Pre-season checks | Extra View and WiFi |
| Complexes and estates | Communal systems | Discreet installations |
| Guest houses | Commercial setups | CCTV and networking |
| Outlying towns | New installations | Aerial and OpenView |
New installation covers dish, LNB, cabling, decoder setup and activation. Relocations moves an existing setup when you change address. OpenView is the no-subscription route, and aerials pick up free local channels.
Signal repairs for no picture, error codes and weather dropouts. Dish alignment when the dish has drifted or was never set correctly.
Extra View links rooms on one subscription. Explora and Ultra for recording and streaming. Communal systems for complexes and multi-unit properties.
CCTV with remote viewing, WiFi and network cabling for dead spots and structured points, and TV wall mounting with concealed cable.
Commercial DStv for guest houses, restaurants, offices and anywhere the licensing differs from a private home.
Call or WhatsApp 079 754 5527. If we are on a roof we will call back. Tell us where you are and what the problem is, and we will give you an honest answer about when we can be there. If we are not the right people for the job we will say that too.
We cover St Helena Bay itself plus Shelley Point, Britannia Bay, Stompneusbaai, Sandy Point, Paternoster, Vredenburg and the surrounding areas. If you are near that list but not on it, call and ask. We travel for larger jobs and we are often already nearby.
For work in St Helena Bay and the closer areas, travel is built into the quote. For properties further out we will tell you upfront if there is a callout, so it is never a surprise on the invoice.
For no-signal faults close to base we aim for same-day or next-day. Call early and we will give you an honest answer about when we can be there rather than an optimistic one.
Yes. Installation, repairs, Extra View, OpenView, CCTV, WiFi and aerials are all available everywhere we cover. Larger communal and commercial jobs are scheduled rather than same-day.
